I Want to Eat Your Pancreas

She said, "I want to eat your pancreas." Spring. It was April, when the late-blooming cherry blossoms were still in bloom. "I," a high school student who has no interest in others and is always reading books alone, picks up a paperback in the hospital waiting room. The book, titled "Disease Coexistence Journal" in handwritten letters, turns out to be a secret diary written by the lively and popular classmate, Sakura Yamauchi. After reading the contents, Sakura tells "I" that she has a terminal pancreatic illness with only a short time left to live. It was the moment when she, who had been hiding her illness from everyone except her family and doctor, found her only person to share the secret with. As she continues her daily life as normally as possible while doing what she wants and living to the fullest, until her final day arrives, Sakura's free-spirited actions begin to slowly change "I's" heart.
