As a child, Kasumi Toyama once went camping and was mesmerized by the "Star Beat" she heard under the starry night sky. The sparkling, heart-pounding sound left an unforgettable impression on her, and ever since, she has longed to experience that same thrill again. Now, as a newly enrolled student at Hanasakigawa Girls' High School, she is more determined than ever to find that feeling once more. She tries joining various school clubs and even considers taking up a part-time job, but nothing seems to click. That is, until she stumbles upon a star-shaped guitar in an old pawn shop's storage room. This discovery leads her to a live house, where she witnesses a live performance for the first time and is instantly captivated. Overcome with excitement, she makes a spontaneous decision to form a band, even without knowing exactly why. However, the journey is not easy, and together with the friends she meets along the way, she must overcome numerous challenges in her pursuit of that shining, heart-racing sensation once again.
