For 15-year-old Uka Ishimori, middle school was a nightmare she could never forget. Nicknamed "Rocky" for freezing up in social situations, she became a constant target of bullying. Now in high school, Uka sees this as her chance to start over and improve herself. However, during her first week, an accidental encounter with her classmate Kai Miura—an outgoing boy with striking lemon-colored hair—turns her plans upside down. Kai, who is everything Uka is not—confident, popular, and outspoken—extends a helping hand, something Uka never expected. Slowly, he encourages her to step out of her comfort zone. What begins as a simple wish to make friends transforms into something more as Uka realizes her feelings for Kai.
