In the spring of his second year of high school, Ren Amamiya transfers to Shujin Academy in Tokyo. Following a certain incident, Ren awakens as a "Persona" user and forms a "Phantom Thieves" group with his newfound friends. They aim to steal the "distorted desires" of corrupt adults and lead them to redemption. Meanwhile, mysterious mental breakdown incidents begin to occur throughout the city. While leading a normal high school life in the bustling metropolis of Tokyo, they secretly operate as the "Phantom Thieves" after school. The curtain rises on a grand picaresque drama!
