A Silent Voice

As a reckless elementary school student, Shouya Ishida sought excitement in the worst ways. When the deaf Shouko Nishimiya transfers into his class, he and his classmates thoughtlessly torment her. However, when her mother complains to the school, Shouya is scapegoated and abandoned by his peers. With Shouko transferring out, he becomes the target of relentless bullying throughout elementary and middle school, while teachers ignore his suffering.
