Beyond the Boundary

Mirai Kuriyama is the last remaining member of a clan of Spirit World warriors who can manipulate their blood as a weapon. She is tasked with hunting and eliminating "youmu"—creatures born from negative human emotions. One day, while lost in thought on the school rooftop, she encounters Akihito Kanbara, a rare half-youmu in human form. Panicked, she instinctively attacks him with her blood saber, only to realize he is immortal. From that moment, the two develop an unusual friendship, with Mirai constantly attempting to kill Akihito in hopes of gaining confidence as a Spirit World warrior. Over time, Akihito persuades her to join the Literary Club, where she meets Hiroomi and Mitsuki Nase—two other formidable warriors. As their bond deepens, the threats posed by youmu grow stronger. What starts as lighthearted misadventures soon escalates into a desperate battle for survival as the most dangerous youmu, Beyond the Boundary, is set to awaken.
